PhotoVoice Workshop

Develop your photography visual literacy skills. Tessa Macintosh facilitates ‘PhotoVoice Projects’, where participants research their own communities through images with a joint topic in mind. The result can be presented in a booklet or exhibition. Here’s an example.

Tessa Macintosh about PhotoVoice projects: “Giving this workshop is something I really enjoy. Also, it’s important for people to represent their own culture, to be able to send a message into the greater world, but also to show your own people that ‘our voice matters too’.”

“During the PhotoVoice workshop you see new aspects of all that has been surrounding you in everyday life. The camera itself helps you to see with new eyes, which can be educational, empowering and inspiring. To me, a camera is a tool that takes you further in and further out of yourself, like painting or music. The frame of the camera gives you an opportunity to be even closer to what you love. That is healing – and that is the meditative aspect of it.”
